Everyone Mentors LA Home

Public education is a shared responsibility.

We believe public education is a collective good and the community's shared responsibility. To make a difference in the lives of our students, Los Angeles Unified introduced Everyone Mentors LA in the Spring of 2022. 
 
This mentoring initiative aims to ensure every student graduates 'Ready for the World', by pairing students with challenges like declining grades, chronic absenteeism and social-emotional hurdles, with a mentor from the Los Angeles community.

Why This Matters

Mentoring provides students with a positive adult role model who is an objective observer, a good listener and a beneficial companion.
 
A mentor demonstrates to a child that they are important. Mentorship programming has shown positive effects on students improving their grade point averages, test scores and attendance. Mentored students demonstrate better social skills, develop positive interactions and an increased self-esteem, and are also less likely to engage in substance abuse. 
 
In other words, the benefits of mentoring are countless to student development.

How You Can Participate

When students thrive, it benefits the city, state, nation and the globe, as they are the future problem solvers and change agents. We are thrilled to introduce Everyone Mentors LA, which offers every person and organization an opportunity to create a meaningful impact on the lives of our students.
